This antique furniture piece Crafted in Edwardian England around 1900, this wonderful triple armoire Wardrobe remains as beautiful and sturdy today as it ever was. With a lovely patina, the walnut has come to show a rich complexion and grain, while the original solid brass hardware contrasts beautifully with the wood. The carved paneling on the central cabinet doors also looks quite striking, while elegant dental moulding adorns the breakfront top. The plinth base is stable and strong, so this wardrobe does not sway. Conveniently, the wardrobe disassembles into five pieces, so it is quite easy to transport with two people. Skillfully carved and finished Egyptian Woodworking Hatnofer's chair is a fine example of Egyptian woodworking. The various elements were assembled with mortise-and-tenon joinery, with pegs to hold the tenons in place. Pegs also fasten the braces to the back and seat. The joins were reinforced with a resinous glue.

This Italian Classic Style Dining Room is hand-carved olive wood dining set comprising table and six chairs. This antique furniture set was found in excellent original condition and needed minimal attention. The table top is made up of small pieces of olive wood painstakingly put together to produce a spectacular grain pattern. The dimensions shown are for the table, the antique dining chair is 38" high , seat height 19", 19.25" long and 17.25" deep.

Repainting , Staining and Varnishing Furniture

For Repainting Furniture

Thoroughly clean piece to be refinished. Lightly sand object, sanding with the direction of the grain when possible. The objective is to create ‘tooth’ on the surface. By sanding the finished surface, the surface becomes slightly rough (creating tooth) and allows the subsequent layer of primer to effectively ‘bite’ onto the surface, or to adhere properly.

Once primer is completely dry, begin applying base color (for decorative techniques) or finished coat (for one color application).

For waxed surfaces, it is recommended that the furniture be completely stripped so that no wax or residue remains before repainting, staining or varnishing Furniture.

For Staining and Varnishing

Remove existing paint, stain, varnish or wax by using the stripper and stripping method of your choice. The furniture can also be ‘dipped’ in a chemical bath to remove the existing finish. This should be performed by a professional facility only.
