This Jacob armchair is a master piece chair not reproduction antique , it is sensibly dimensioned seats which provide highly satisfactory comfort without taking up too much floor space. The elegance of the support / leg uprights lies in the superb turned shape of the legs and the arm-rest supports, carved at the knees and bases with fine cabling or fine horizontal fluting.

Their stamp was “Jacob Freres rue Meslee”, but as at this time the obligation to stamp was no longer in vogue, only some have come down to us signed.

The piece has canted corners with beautiful scrolled carved corbels and two cupboard doors with arched panels. The interior has one removable shelf and the piece stands on a serpentine shaped base. The piece is a rich dark rosewood colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
